Pokhara located 7 hours from Kathmandu is a true Shangra La nestled in the mountains with a beautiful lake and vibrant mountain culture. This is the starting point of the Annapurna mountain range adventures. Depending on how much time you allow yourself we can guide you to explore the nearby mountain villages with its terraced farmland or trek for longer durations among the high peaks.
Circle Annapurna Odyssey:
An approximately 3 week 330 km trek through the mountains and around the mighty Annapurna massif circling (10 peaks over 6000m high) is famous for both its spectacular scenery and its cultural diversity. We arrange private local guide service, porters and all logistics necessary so you can just enjoy the experience. This route is walked often, especially the more simple walk around Annapurna in a clockwise direction. In addition to the two weeks for walking three to five days should be added on for acclimatising and resting. There are lodges and tea house along the way so camping is not required. Contact us for more information.
Annapurna Basce Camp or ABC and Annapurna Sanctuary:
Annapurna base camp trek is famous for the principal peaks of the western portion of the great Annapurna Himal, including Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Fang, Annapurna, Ganagapurna, Annapurna 3 and Machhapuchhare, are arranged almost precisely in a circle about 10 miles in diameter with a deep glacier-covered amphitheater at the center. From this glacier basin, known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, the Modi Khola knifes its way south in a narrow gorge fully 12,000 ft. deep. Further south, the gorge opens up into a wide and fertile valley, the domain of the Gurungs. The middle and upper portions of Modi Khola offer some of the best short trekking routes in Nepal, and the valley is located so that these treks can be easily combined with treks into the Kali Gandaki region to the west.
In spite of the great heights of the surrounding peaks and ice walls, the valley floor between 12,000 and 14,000 ft. can provide comfortable camping spots in good weather. Eco Tours Japan can provide private guide service, porters and all logistics necessary. Contact us for more information.
